Since 1997 many of the 71,000 plus multicolored seats have been replaced with new blue seats. Qualcomm Stadium has several amenities including over 100 luxury suites, over 7,000 club seats, and the Charges Gold Club which is available to Charges season ticket holders, and allows service at their seats, and access to air conditioned lounges.

The Chargers are now the main tenant of the stadium, as the Padres have moved into there own ballpark, Petco Park. Currently, the Chargers are looking into possibly building there own stadium in the San Diego area.

Weather
San Diego has a mild climate, but fans bring sweaters and jackets to afternoon and night games to guard against chilly evenings.

Concessions
Concession stands offer the standard fare of beer, hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos. In addition the stadium offers franchise outlets for such local favorites as Rally's Hamburgers and Rubio's fish tacos - San Diego culinary concoction of fish, cabbage, salsa, and lime that's tastier than it sounds.

Parking
QUALCOMM Stadium's parking lot has 18,500 parking spaces and the site is 122 acres. Many fans arrive early and have tailgate parties. After the game, getting out of the lot requires extreme patience.

Drive SOUTH on Interstate 5
Turn EAST on Interstate 8
Turn NORTH on QUALCOMM Way
Turn EAST on Friars Road
Turn RIGHT into the first parking lot entrance.

To Qualcomm Stadium North from Interstate 15:
Drive SOUTH on Interstate 15
Turn WEST on Friars Road
Turn LEFT into the far west parking lot.

To Qualcomm Stadium South from Interstate 5 or 805:
Drive NORTH on Interstate 5 to 805
Turn EAST on Interstate 8
Turn NORTH on Mission Gorge
Turn WEST on San Diego Mission Road
Look for the entrance gate on your LEFT.

To Qualcomm Stadium South from Freeway 163:
Drive NORTH on Freeway 163
Turn EAST on Friars Road
Turn RIGHT into the first parking lot entrance.

To Qualcomm Stadium East from Interstate 8:
Drive WEST on Interstate 8
Turn off the Mission Gorge off-ramp
Turn NORTH on Mission Gorge
Turn WEST on San Diego Mission Road
Look for the entrance gate on your LEFT.

To Qualcomm Stadium West from Interstate 8:
Drive EAST on Interstate 8
Turn NORTH on QUALCOMM Way
Turn EAST on Friars Road
Turn RIGHT into the first parking lot entrance.
