The multi-purpose facility, which opened in June of 1992, can seat up to 19,100. Everything is state-of-the-art, built with not only the fans but also the players in mind. Unlike most NBA teams, the Suns practice where they play, in a gym built next to the locker rooms at the arena.
All the seats, even the less expensive ones, have great sight lines. US Airways Center is pretty, too, with the Suns team colors—purple, orange, and copper—everywhere. No expense has been spared. The downtown location is perfect. Crime is low, and plenty of police and security officers help with traffic and directions into and out of the arena's 11 acres.
Get there early and stroll around. Before game time, bands play outside on the plaza, and fans love to mingle and chat with tourists and visitors before tipoff.

Concessions
Popcorn, nachos, beer, soda, peanuts, ice cream—all the regular fare—are prepared on site. The service is excellent, too: If you end up buying more food than you can carry, attendants might help you tote it to your seat. The Copper Club is a 10,000-square foot bar and restaurant with a view of the court on the second concourse level. It serves a buffet on event nights and is open to the public for lunch on weekdays.
The first concourse has its own food court, featuring Whataburger, Subway, Pizza Hut, and Miss Karen's Frozen Yogurt. It is also open for lunch on weekdays. The place to go after the game is Majerle's Sports Grill (602.253.9004). Former Suns star Dan Majerle drops in and mingles when he's in town, as do most of the players from both teams.
Parking
A 900-space parking garage is attached, a 1,500-space garage is across the street, and more than 11,000 parking spaces in less expensive lots are within an eight-minute walk of the entrances. The garage across the street is $6. The farther you park from the building, the less expensive the parking is, and the quicker you can get out of the traffic congestion.
