Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum

The museum is home to the world's largest painting "The Battle of Atlanta" and home of the Civil War locomotive. History will come alive as you step back to July 22, 1864 and become part of the battle.

Atlanta Zoo

This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Two panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

This is one of the only museums in the world to grow out of an old growth forest. In 2001 Fernbank became the first museum in the world to display the world's largest dinosaur, Argentinosaurus.

High Museum of Art

The High Museum of Art is the leading art museum in the Southeastern United States. The Museum has two locations: the Meier-designed main facility is in Atlanta's Midtown arts and business district, and the High Museum of Art Folk Art and Photography Galleries are downtown in the Georgia-Pacific Center. The High's collections include African art, American art, decorative arts, European art, folk art, modern and contemporary art, and photography.

Georgia Aquarium

This is the world's largest aquarium with 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water, more than 100,000 animals from over 500 species from around the world.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

The Garden features 15 acres of outdoor display gardens, the Upper Woodland showcasing five acres of shade-loving ornamentals from around the world and the 10-acre Storza Woods with natural undergrowth and walking trails. Across the Flower Bridge is the two-acre Children's Garden, which has been designed as a "wellness" garden. The Dorothy Chapman Fuqua Conservatory houses rare and endangered plants from tropical rainforests and desert regions. The Fuqua Orchid Center houses a High Elevation House, a Tropical Display House and a Center for Education and Conservation.

Stone Mountain Park

The park offers a riverboat cruise to see Stone Mountain Lake from a Mississippi paddlewheel, take a sky ride to the top of Stone Mountain, or take a train ride around the mountain, enjoy a laser light show, take a sight seeing tour on Ride the Ducks with a big splash in to Stone Mountain Lake, or the children can do anything from an 1870's four story barn of 21st century fun to an outdoor playground.

CNN Center

Home to the world's first and largest 24-hour news network, the CNN Center features a Studio Tour that treats visitors to a behind-the scenes look at the live newsrooms in action. The tour features history and trivia as well as interactive exhibits that put visitors in the control room and at the anchor desk of their own television newscast.

Underground Atlanta
A four-block subterranean maze of shops, stalls, restaurants and bars on the original site of the city (effectively buried in the late nineteenth century by the construction of railroad viaducts). In the 1970s the district, ranged around Five Points MARTA station, was a crime-ridden wasteland, but, thanks to Andrew Young's dream of a revitalized downtown, it's now one of the liveliest - albeit very touristy - pockets of the city. The underground labyrinth of cobbled gas-lit streets, restored to their original appearance and dotted with historical markers, is reached by steps from a piazza buzzing with street performers.
